Livestock was very important for transportation and production in ancient China, there were many posts had been made to tether the Livestock. These posts also symbolized prosperity of a family as it represented the lands and livestock a family owned. Along with the development of carving artwork in Qin Dynasty, there were many figural carvings had been applied for architecture, furnitures, tools and accessories. It is very often to see four mythological creatures on these posts, which are the Azure Dragon of the East, the Rose finch of the South, the White Tiger of the west and the Black Turtle of the North.
